Summer vacation art project, first
First day of summer vacation. Resolution: make art every day.
Today's project was to attach a ring to BoB (my Chesapeake skiff) for which to attach the painter.
Started with a bicycle kickstand. (For odd reasons I have many.)
Bent it into a roundish shape with a hammer.
Squished it with a clamp.
Welded it shut.
And done.

make something
New in an irregular series. Something I made. I make things compulsively. But it is Okay because everyone should make some art.

Infected

The painting hung in my father’s room when he was a child. Today it hangs in my son’s bedroom.
These things can be tough to identify. But it sure looks like Shamrock V, the only remaining wooden J boat.

In hope that someone reading this can corroborate the ID, my grandfather received the painting as a gift from the widow of Marshall Sheppey, a tycoon from Toledo, Ohio who briefly owned the boat pictured and kept it in Miami. He hired Warren Sheppard to paint this portrait
